In spite of the rainy weather many Edmontonians came out to enjoy the safety fair.  The displays were housed in the shelter of the big tent and the Woodcroft Community opened their hall so that participants could come in from the rain to enjoy entertainment and refreshments.  There was a free Child Safety car seat clinic, as well as a bicycle clinic, horse rides, hot dogs, emergency vehicles including Air 2, kids events and safety information.   Mayor Mandell and MLA, Heather Klimchuk also made an appearance.

Our theme this year is "Keeping our Community  Green" and so we will have a demonstration on how to start your own backyard composter.  We are also asking everyone to bring their own plates, silverware and cups to save on garbage.  Hamburgers/Veggieburgers, corn on the cob and watermelon $1.00 per plate, $2.00 if dishes required.  Chocolate milk, regular milk and juice are free, $0.50 if cup required.  For more information and to volunteer for this event, contact Cindy Stewart at 488-6943.
