This even continues to be one of our more popular pre-Christmas activities.  Another successful sub-division of Gingerbread houses has been added to our community.  No building code restrictions here - everyone left with their own unique creation.

A Good Ol' Country Hoedown

In Woodcroft Community

July 21, 2012 (2pm – Midnight)

Yee Haw!   Despite the threatening weather forecast, the sun came out along with a great crowd.

Folks had an opportunity to catch up with old friends and neighbours; there was plenty of popcorn, cotton candy and refreshments for all; and the petting zoo, fishing hole, games and activities were popular attractions for the young as well as the young-at-heart.   Several very talented young singers from Pure Artists Inc.  performed through the afternoon, demonstrating once again that Edmonton's got talent to spare.

Contratulations to the winners of the baking contest.  There are some mighty good cooks out there.

After a very satisfying dinner spread, our lively crowd spent a pre-dance hour brushing up on their line dancing with instruction provided by Kerri Orthner as well as two step and fox trot techniques courtesy of lessons provided by Cindy Webber.  Then folks danced their boots off to the crowd pleasing band "Jukebox Leigh".

And where would we be without our fantastic volunteers!  Thank-you once again.  We could not have pulled off this great event without the tireless contribution of our volunteers.  Along with all of the work that was contributed, our volunteers had a whole lot of fun working together.

2012 Easter Egg Hunt & More

Saturday, April 7, 2012

10:00 AM – 12:00 Noon

Woodcroft Community Hall

A big THANK-YOU to all of the volunteers who helped to make this year's Easter Egg Hunt event an overwhelming success.   It was exciting start to a beautiful Easter weekend.

Hope to see you all again next Easter.

We would like to extend our thanks to all of the volunteers that helped to make this event such a great success!

On the morning of Saturday, April 23, 2011, sixty children and their families came out to celebrate spring and enjoy a morning of Easter activities.  Children hunted for Easter eggs, planted flower seeds, completed numerous Easter crafts and shared snacks together.  Neighbours and holiday guests had an opportunity to socialize and share in this special day in our community.

We look forward to seeing you all at our next event.

Presents:      Animal Crackers and Humbugs
Date: Saturday, June 4, 2011

The children who attended the Children's Musical Theatre Classes sponsored by the Alberta St. George Society, performed to a full house of appreciative fans.  The crowd that came out to show their support, share some entertainment and laughter, and enjoy some cake, coffee/tea, had a thoroughly enjoyable evening.  Congratulations to all involved.

Neighbors and friends enjoyed a family friendly New Years Eve Party.  Catering, provided by Chateau Louis, consisted of a buffet roast beef dinner (including cabbage rolls, vegetables, salads and desserts) and a special kids menu including macaroni and cheese and meatballs. There was also a cash bar.  Lots of casual fun and games followed dinner, with fireworks (on the big screen) at 9:00pm.   There was also an impressive array of valuable and interesting items to bid on at the silent auction, with proceeds going towards construction of the new playground.

We held two events to bring in the Christmas season:  Deck the Hall and Gingerbread House decorating.  The participants, young and old, did themselves proud.

The Christmas tree is aglitter with all of their festive creations.  Hope you have a chance to see it during the holiday season.  And, we had such overwhelming interest in the Gingerbread House decorating that we had enough houses to build a village!

Some pictures are attached.
